Message from the Principal

Welcome to St George School, a special school, located in Kogarah, a southern suburb of Sydney in Australia.

St George School is a NSW government school and caters for students with moderate/severe physical and multiple disabilities. The school provides a friendly, inclusive atmosphere for students from preschool to Year 12. School staff work collaboratively with families to deliver quality learning experiences that enable students to work towards personalised learning priorities and achieve curriculum outcomes from the syllabuses of the Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards NSW.

The teaching programs at St George School are consistent with the Disability Standards for Education 2005 which gives students with a disability the right to education and training opportunities on the same basis as students without a disability. Adjustments are made to the teaching programs to address the needs of individual students.

Our school vision captures the shared goals, expectations and collective responsibility for the students at the school:

‘To empower students to become lifelong learners who are confident, emotionally and socially secure and able to communicate effectively so they can function in the community to the best of their ability.'
